THE SUN AND YOUR SKIN
In these hot summer days, what you most want is, without a doubt, to make the most of them and get the brown skin that we so much desire during the winter. But whenever we expose ourselves to the sun, there are a few precautions we should take.
Burns, premature aging of the skin, acne, melasma, keratosis, sun allergies and, the best known and most feared, skin cancer can be prevented responsibly, without missing the best moments of summer.
We are not doctors, and we cannot say that these symptoms appear or not, from one day to the next. But we can advise you on the best way so that, every time you expose yourself to the sun, the impact is less:
- “Always put sunscreen on”. How many times have you heard, and how many times have you respected, this phrase? Will it be proportionate? There are rare cases where it is. It's essential that you protect every corner of your skin… You can't make “beginners' mistakes”! Without sunscreen, what you will get is red and scalded skin, which, after a few days, becomes a skin change. You don't achieve the tone you want, you can get allergies, spots or small pimples, which are uncomfortable, and your skin's health is fragile;
- "Drink a lot of water." These are words you can't forget. Hydrate yourself: your whole body will thank you. And, when you get out of the shower, use a moisturizing cream or an after sun, to help you recover;
- Food is important. Whether winter or summer, maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is essential. Pay attention to your body's signals: eat more fruits and vegetables, rich in vitamins, minerals and with high percentages of water, which will help you restore your levels;
- Don't expose yourself in the hottest hours. A tent or a sun hat will help you to be more protected.
And yes, for the most curious, even using the factor 50 sunscreen, it is possible to achieve the tone you want. Even better, without having problems or headaches afterwards.
With all this advice, all you can do is protect yourself, enjoy the sun, the best beaches in Albufeira and, who knows, take a tour… but this time, in complete safety.
See you soon?
