It is essential that we have a healthy and strengthened body, whether for physical exercise or for the rest of our daily activities.
The beginning of the practice of a modality implies a change in our life and in our body. In this way, it is important that we reinforce it with what we like, but that we do not boycott the exercise we did.
For SUP, Surf or Kayak is no different! You can tend to fall into the false idea that, as it is a short-term activity, you don't need to pay so much attention to certain aspects.
The fact that these activities take place outdoors, in contact with nature, is already an important help, but it is not enough. You should drink a lot of water and always stay as hydrated as possible, before, during and after the activity. Avoid foods high in fat and high in salt or sugars afterwards. At that moment, your whole organism is a real sponge: choose healthier foods, which recharge your energies; avoid smoking and drinking alcohol which are real poisons!
These are details that we should all pay attention to every day and, if we do, we are only looking out for the good of our body. We are not always able to maintain these habits in the hustle of our daily routine, but if we make an effort, at least on the days when we are physically active, our body will smile at us as a thank you.
