In Portugal, sea temperatures are not the lowest, but they are not as high as in other countries. Therefore, we always advise you to pay attention to the thickness of your wetsuit. If you are a beginner in the practice of this sport, it is normal for you to have some doubts in this parameter, and we are here to help you:

First of all, we say no to waste, and we immediately rule out the idea of having one suit for summer and one for winter. A suit that is 4/3 mm does the job perfectly. If you think that you are still feeling too cold, you can just complement it with the use of boots, instead of buying another suit of thicker thickness.

Betting on surfing and being constantly cold can be something quite uncomfortable for this sport, so, and as every body is a body, the most important thing is to first feel comfortable with the wetsuit and the temperature that surrounds you.

For our Algarve, and because we are privileged with a mild temperature at almost all times of the year, you don't need to invest in a very complex suit.
