Surfing is increasingly a popular sport, with practitioners of all ages with the most varied lifestyles.
Surfing breaks language and cultural barriers. If, for many, it may just be a passing fad, for the founders and pillars of the sport, it was the passion for surfing that created the biggest wave of surfers in the world.
Here are some fun facts about surfing:
- Surfing is one of the oldest sports in the world. There are prehistoric stone carvings in Peru that are over 5,000 years old;
- The first major surfing competition was held in 1928 in California;
- In Hawaii, it is common, in large buildings, to have a space to store the surfboard in the garage. That is, he rents an apartment, and is entitled to a parking space for the car and two places for the surfboards;
